Hi there, I’m Eloi, a first generation Australian of Portuguese heritage. Curious by nature and creative at heart, I discovered cork fabric on one of my trips to Portugal and fell in love with the unique properties of cork and its versatility to make just about anything.
I source the highest quality cork fabric from Portugal, focussing on contemporary Mediterranean designs featuring flora, fauna, and Portuguese tiles (Azulejo). All our handbags and accessories are unique and lovingly handmade by me in my home workshop in Sydney, Australia.
Cork has many unique properties. As durable as leather, cork is super soft, light as a feather, water-resistant, hypoallergenic, easy to keep clean and won’t lose its shape. As a vegan alternative to leather, cork is natural, renewable, sustainable, eco-friendly, biodegradable and animal cruelty-free.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting a cork forest in Portugal to see first-hand the amazing tradition of harvesting the cork tree which stimulates regeneration and extends the life of the cork trees.
